The corner of California and Alaska, in the heart of West Seattle’s Junction neighborhood, a historic hub just across the bay from downtown Seattle, is home to more than just a record store; it is a touchstone for the music community.
Record stores are where we run into old friends, discover new sounds, and feel connected to something bigger than ourselves. This piece is not a tribute, but a reflection of what that space holds: a sense of belonging. It honors the role places like this play in keeping community alive - for the artists, the weirdos, the fans, and everyone in between.
That sense of belonging is what fuels As Many Weirdos As Possible. The project celebrates the people and places that shaped our music community, capturing stories that show how culture is kept alive not only through artists, but also through the spaces where connection happens.
Meet the Artist
Rosetta Greek devoted 251.75 hours to creating a half-inch-scale replica of West Seattle’s Easy Street Records, The Corner of California and Alaska. Every poster, window frame, and architectural detail was cut, shaped, and placed by hand - a meticulous tribute to one of Seattle’s most iconic music landmarks.
From Pop-Tart wrappers, second hand clothing, salvaged wood and reused packaging to scraps of paper and glue, Rosetta’s work transforms everyday materials into something iconic. This piece celebrates the ingenuity and grit at the heart of the Pacific Northwest’s music community.
At the corner of California Ave SW and Alaska St, the heart of West Seattle’s Junction, sits a record store that fuels a community, soundtracks a city, and caffeinates generations of music lovers.
