Welcome, Weirdo!

At Poser Productions, our mission is to preserve and celebrate personal histories through the art of photographic portraiture and storytelling. This endeavor is a love letter to the communities we support. and we are committed to documenting the lives and contributions of individuals who have shaped their communities. By capturing both images and handwritten narratives, we honor their stories, ensuring they are shared, remembered, and valued for generations to come.

Our first endeavor, As Many Weirdos As Possible is a collaborative still life documentary photography project celebrating the musical legacy of the Pacific Northwest, spotlighting Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and beyond. It focuses on the diverse creators who shaped the music scene between 1985-1995, spanning genres from hip hop to grunge. As the region transforms into a tech hub, we pay tribute to the vibrant past that laid the foundation for its current identity amid changing landscapes.

The name was given to us by Art Chantry, who asked if our plan was to “photograph as many weirdos as possible.” Five photographers are taking portraits of noteworthy individuals in places that tie them to their story. Each participant is asked to hand write a favorite anecdotal memory from this time on an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper which will accompany the individual portraits. The legacy of this project is twofold: a gallery show and a published book.

Poser Productions is fiscally sponsored by Shunpike.
